Norman Schwartz
Bolton Hill Company was founded in 1979 by Norman Schwartz. Born in Baltimore, Norman received a Bachelor of Science degree in Group Communications from Northwestern University in 1971. He moved to California in 1974 and five years later began providing project management services to a local home builder. He began his real estate development work with condominium conversions in the Lake Merritt area of Oakland where he helped acquire, convert and market over 200 condominium units.
Bolton Hill Company has managed the development entitlement process for over 1,500 residential units and obtained governmental approvals for specific plans, general plan and zoning amendments, environmental impact reports, development agreements, owner participation agreements, site plan and architecture design permits, subdivisions, annexations and other entitlements. Development entitlement work managed by Bolton Hill has involved governmental approvals from city and county planning commissions, councils and supervisors, water districts, fire districts, school districts, local agency formation commissions, California Department of Fish & Game, California Coastal Commission, Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and others.
Norman Schwartz has served on the board of the Santa Cruz County Community Foundation, including three years as president of the board. He was recently appointed an honorary trustee. He currently serves on the board of the Cabrillo College Foundation as an officer of the board and a member of the finance committee. Norman lives in the city of Santa Cruz.
George Smith
George Smith joined Bolton Hill in 1999. His primary responsibilities are performing the research for and preparation of seller disclosure statements and managing Bolton Hill's seller disclosure statement business. In the last 3 years alone, George has overseen the preparation of over 150 disclosure statements for many of the top home builders in California. A native of Oakland, George earned his Bachelor of Arts degrees in Business Economics and in Political Science from the University of California Santa Barbara. Prior to joining Bolton Hill, George worked in real estate development and then as a real estate appraiser for the insurance industry. He has held a California Real Estate Broker's license since 1995. George lives in the city of Scotts Valley and when he is not spending time with his family, he enjoys biking and playing tennis.
